Abstract

Lifetimes of high spin states in 72,73Br, 78,79Sr, 83Y and 83Zr measured with the recoil distance and Doppler shift attenuation techniques will be reviewed with the emphasis on optimized detector arrangements. We will also discuss Monte-Carlo calculations of the γ-ray flux and sidefeeding times. Finally, first DSA lifetime measurements in 54Cr following thermal neutron capture and employing the NBS/ILL double flat crystal spectrometer GAMS4 will be reported on.
