Komplexität von Drogenkarrieren

Zusammenfassung

Grundlage des Beitrages sind erste Zwischenergebnisse der von der Projektgruppe Rauschmittelfragen in Frankfurt am Main durchgeführten prospektiven Längsschnittstudie „Amsel“ mit Heroinabhängigen und Polytoxikomanen.

Die Stichprobe: 324 Drogenabhängige (davon 91,4% heroinabhängig); 29% Frauen; 90% Deutsche; Durchschnittsalter 26 Jahre; 19% zum Zeitpunkt der ersten Befragung HIV-positiv; 65% waren schon (mindestens) einmal im Gefängnis.

In der ersten Erhebungswelle der Längsschnittuntersuchung (von Mitte 1985 bis Mitte 1986) wurden die Drogenabhängigen in unterschiedlichen Institutionen und Lebenszusammenhängen aufgesucht und ausführlich interviewt. Die Interviewform kombiniert standardisierte und narrative Elemente, erlaubt daher sowohl quantitative als auch qualitative Auswertung. Der Untersuchung zugrunde liegt eine entwicklungspsychologische theoretische Konzeption über den Einstieg in die Sucht, den Suchtverlauf und den möglichen Ausstieg. Hauptanliegen ist das Begleiten (prospektiv) von Ausstiegsprozessen.

Basierend auf den Untersuchungsergebnissen wird die Biographie der Drogenabhängigen vor allem im Hinblick auf drogenbezogene und drogenfreie Intervalle und deren Zusammenhang (oder nicht) mit therapeutischen Interventionen diskutiert.

Summary

This is a status report on the prospective, long-term follow-up study, “Amsel”, of heroin-dependent people and individuals dependent on more than one drug being conducted by the Working Group on Drugs (Projektgruppe Rauschmittelfragen) in Frankfurt am Main.

The subjects are 324 drug addicts, 91.4% of whom are heroin dependent, 29% are women, 90% are Germans; the average age at the index interview was 26. Nineteen percent were HIV-positive at that time and 65% have been in jail at least once.

In the initial phase of the study (mid-198 5 to mid-1986) the subjects, who were currently at a variety of institutions or living outside institutions in a variety of circumstances, were interviewed in person. The interview was a combination of standardized and open-ended questions, which enabled both quantitative and qualitative assessment. The underlying theoretical concept is a developmental psychology view about how drug abuse begins, its course, and the chances of stopping. The main aim is to follow (prospectively) processes of reduction in use and cessation.

Based on the findings available so far, the biography of drug dependents is discussed, with special emphasis on the relationship (if any) of drug-free intervals and intervals with drug abuse to therapeutic interventions.
