Abstract
In a review article entitled “Neurochemical Basis of Acupuncture Analgesia” [1] I summarized the relevant information up to 1980 on a worldwide basis. The present review will cover only studies performed in the 1980s in my laboratory which are relevant to central neurotransmitters mediating acupuncture analgesia (AA). To make the review brief there are no lengthy discussions on each topic. The reader is referred to original articles for relevant comments.
