Abstract

Percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) for treatment of arterial obstructions has, since it was first described by Dotter and Judkins in 1964 [2], involved two different therapeutic techniques, percutaneous recanalization (PTR) of occlusions and percutaneous dilatation (PTD) of stenoses.
