Abstract
The swollen uvula often harasses the oesophagus and throat: however, there need be no fear of suffocation. This disorder comes from the gargareon or gurgulio, known as the uvula, and it is distressing and arouses fear that the loose humour may cause suffocation or obstruct the passage of food and drink.
