Abstract

The impact of pollutants on fjords in Scandinavia is highly variable due to different pollutant load, differences in fjord morphology, water exchange, and type of pollutant. To exemplify these variations three case histories are presented, representing three morphologically different fjords with different pollutant load, amounts as well as quality. However, they all have in common a long history of industrial pollution.
