Abstract

This symposium has contributed new and substantive data and concepts on the subject of the influence of antibiotics on the host-parasite relationship. The breadth of disciplines covered by the speakers and the broadly based expertise represented by the participants, as evidenced by the eclectic nature of the open discussions, resulted in a well-rounded symposium which was both enlightening and enjoyable. Its scientific content was interesting, instructive, and important and the concerted attempt to stimulate discussion was highly successful and edifying for us all.
