Zusammenfassung
Altern ist die häufigste Ursache einer Immundysregulation (Tabelle 1), und gerade das Immunsystem ist ein günstiges Objekt zum Studium des Alterungsphänomens auf zellulärer und molekularer Ebene. Was läßt sich zur Immunmodulation im Alter sagen? Welche Interventionsmöglichkeiten haben wir, die zur Änderung oder Beeinflussung der Alterungsrate beitragen? Da wären sicherlich die Diätrestriktion und die körperliche Aktivität zu nennen, Hormonsubstitution, Thymusfaktoren und andere Stoffe. Wir könnten uns vorstellen, daß vielleicht auch eine Substitution mit Lymphokinen auf diesem Gebiet von Nutzen sein könnte.
