  • Wolfgang Stille

Bartonellosis, erysipeloid, and rat-bite fever are all rare bacterial diseases. Whereas bartonellosis is geographically restricted to the habitat of its sandfly vector (certain valleys in Peru, Ecuador, and Colombia), the other two infections occur worldwide. Erysipeloid is an occupational disease of people handling meat, poultry, or fish.
