Abstract
Plague is still endemic in several countries of the Americas (e.g., the southern states of the USA, Brazil, Bolivia, Peru), Africa (e.g., Zaire, Madagascar, Kenya, Namibia, South Africa), and the Far East (Vietnam, Burma) [1].
