Abstract

Contemporary knowledge of the Rosaceae embryology is based on data concerning ca one half of their genera, Still, a little is known about the embryological differences between the subfamilies or tribes and about the variability of embryological characters within the family. Thus is necessary to continue the routine work on inadequately known taxa and to do comparative-developmental observations of particular characters, paying attention to their inter- and intraspecific variations.
