Antidiabetic Treatment in Type II Diabetes

Abstract

Type II diabetes is characterized by impairment of insulin secretion and impairment of insulin action or insulin resistance. The result is insufficient suppression of glucose production in the liver and a failure of peripheral insulin action at the target organs, muscle and adipose tissue.
