Beim fortgeschrittenen Prostatakarzinom ist die Strahlentherapie indiziert. Die bisher einzige Methode der Therapiekontrolle ist die Prostatabiopsie, die jedoch erst nach 1–1,5 Jahren aussagefähig ist.
