Zusammenfassung

Erste experimentelle Arbeiten zur Laserrekanalisation verschlossener Arterien wurden zu Beginn der 1980er Jahre von Choy und Lee [1, 9] veröffentlicht. Klinische Pilotstudien demonstrierten die Durchführbarkeit der perkutanen Laserrekanalisation im Bereich der Beinarterien [4], der Koronararterien [2] und der A. carotis [7]. An der Univ.-Klinik für Radiologie Graz läuft seit 1984 ein Forschungsprogramm bezüglich Laser-Angioplastie.
