Abstract

We present a concept for the storage of large amounts of design data arising at a CAD-workstation. The data are kept in an unstructured way within a commercial relational data-base. They are then transfered to the main memory for manipulation issues. There we structure them by a uniform application schema. The user can configure this schema according to his needs. The implementation of the database is hidden from the application tools by a multilevel procedural interface. In a later version a DML-Interface will be added.
