Abstract

In discussing the surgical treatment of malformations of the anterior skull base, we must recognize two major groups:
  1. 1)

Closure defects of the skull and brain-the fistulas, cysts, and celes (frontobasal dysraphic anomalies).

  2. 2)

The various types of craniofacial synostosis and dysostosis.
