What is the association between granular cell tumors of the esophagus and cancer?

Abstract

Granular cell tumor of the esophagus (GCT) was first described in 1926 by Abrikossoff. It is rare and almost always benign [1]. We have recently observed five cases. They may lead, in some circumstances, to a delicate differentiation from malignant tumors.
