Abstract

At the Second World Congress of Cervical Pathology and Colposcopy in 1975 in Graz/Austria, a provisional ‘International Nomenclature for Colposcopy’ was developed by a special committee (Table 1). The aim was to make use of precise terms, which can easily be translated into various languages. An attempt to dispense with histological terms was made.
