Psychiatric Rehabilitation in Norway
Down to recent times, Scandinavian psychiatry has been a hospital psychiatry. During the first part of this century, it was strongly influenced by German psychiatry which emphasized genetical factors in mental illness. After the Second World War, psychoanalytic and socialpsychiatric viewpoints made its impact from North America and Great Britain. In theory, Norwegian psychiatry has been able to integrate both biological, psychological and social viewpoints.
