Book cover Interactions of Water in Ionic and Nonionic Hydrates

Abstract

Three low stoichiometry (H2O)m(SO2)n or m:n complexes have been prepared by codeposition of H20 and S02 with excess or argon or nitrogen. Concentration effect identified the 1:1, 1:2 and 2:1 species; isotopic substitution in both submolecules provided assignments to the internal modes of each partner, wtiich allowed to precise the nature of the interactions within these aggregates.
