Abstract
The advent of polysomnographic techniques has vastly improved our understanding of respiratory disorders arising during sleep. Our studies in this field have already been discussed in previous reviews [1-3]. We will now attempt to delineate briefly the clinical features of the main nosological categories of sleep- related respiratory disorders, from snoring and the obstructive sleep apnea syndromes (OSAS) to central apneas and the idiopathic central alveolar hypoventilation (ICAH) syndromes.
