Abstract
Na+/K+-ATPase α2 subunit gene exhibits tissue-specific and developmental patterns of expression in the rat. For example, it is expressed specifically in muscle and neural tissues. The mRNA level of the α2 subunit gene in muscle tissue increases dramatically during rat myogenesis (3). In this study, we report promoter analysis of rat Na,K-ATPase α2 subunit gene (Atp1a2). To identify cis elements and trans-acting factors, we used L6 rat myoblast cells as a model for skeletal muscle.
