Zusammenfassung
Das gleichzeitige Vorliegen einer koronaren Herzerkrankung und einer uni- oder bilateralen Erkrankung der Karotiden, bzw. auch zum Teil noch weiterer supraaortaler Äste, stellt ein schwieriges Problem hinsichtlich der Behandlungsstrategie dar. Das Auftreten neurologischer Komplikationen bei Patienten im Anschluß an Operationen unter Einsatz einer extrakorporalen Zirkulation ist seit Mitte der sechziger Jahre bekannt [4]. Andererseits ist das perioperative Risiko eines Myokardinfarktes im Rahmen einer Thrombendarterektomie der Arteria carotis interna bei Patienten mit schwerer koronarer Herzkrankheit nicht zu unterschätzen.
