Zusammenfassung
Orales Gold (Auranofin) hat sich in vielfältigen und gut dokumentierten Studien als eine wirksame und mit relativ wenigen Nebenwirkungen behaftete Basistherapie der chronischen Polyarthritis erwiesen (1, 6). Seine Effektivität entspricht dabei der der parenteralen Goldsalze, wobei auch der Zeitpunkt des Wirkungseintrittes vergleichbar ist (9, 11), wenngleich einige Autoren einen etwas späteren Wirkungseintritt von oralem Gold festzustellen glauben (10). Somit scheint orales Gold in der Langzeittherapie der chronischen Polyarthritis eine therapeutische Alternative darzustellen, einmal zum parenteralen Gold, wie auch zu den anderen Basistherapeutika, da es sich z.B. auch gegenüber D-Penicillamin (2) und Hydroxychloroquin (4) als effektiv gezeigt hat.
