Abstract

The need to develop an experimental model in the closed chest animal for the study of hemodynamic and electrophysiologic effects of various physiologic and pharmacologic interventions has led several investigators to develop means for ablating the atrioventricular (A V) node and/or bundle of His. In addition, the potential clinical utility of such a method has also been apparent (1, 2).
