Zusammenfassung

Unter Piercing (engl. to pierce: durchstechen) wird das Anbringen von meist metallischen Schmuckstücken am Körper aus ästhetisch-kosmetischen Gründen verstanden (Abb. 1). Gelegentlich wird „Piercing“auch allgemeiner und in Ausweitung der ursprünglichen Wortbedeutung mit „Körperschmuck“übersetzt.
