Zusammenfassung
Die Kinderlähmung oder Poliomyelitis wurde 1840 durch Heine und Medin erstmals beschrieben. Mit der Entwicklung des Salk- und des Sabin-Impfstoffes wurde die Polio weitgehend zurückgedrängt und wird in Mitteleuropa jetzt nur noch nach Einschleppung gesehen.
