Abstract

Modern pharmacology currently is developed in terms of structural theory, based, in popular terms, on the idea of molecular keys fitting physiological locks, and thereby allowing or preventing metabolisms from taking place. But it might be plausible that these same molecules transmit or receive certain specific vibration frequencies that could bring about similar metabolic action. There is no direct evidence for such a hypothesis, but there is at least ample experimental proof of the richness of biomolecular vibrational structure.
