Abstract
In a certain group of patients the angioarchitectural abnormality is a direct arteriovenous fistula(s) (AVFs), without an intervening angiomatous complex (see Chap. 1) (Fig. 5.1). This type of lesion represented 15% of our referred patients (138/900) and 20% of the patients embolized (116/560). Other lesions incorporating direct fistulas are described elsewhere, including in Vol. 2, and Chap. 8, Dural AVFs and in Chap. 3, this volume.
