New Corona Preionisation Technique for Medium Repetition Rate TEA-Lasers

Abstract

A new surface discharge corona preionisation technique has been developed. The preionising board has a slit aperture in the center, which corresponds to the main electrode gap. This board allows the installation of a rapid transverse gas flow which circulates through preioniser and main electrode gap sequentially. When a transverse gas flow is used, repetition rates up to 100 Hz can be achieved.
