Abstract

Enzyme specific activity seems to be closely related to triggered conformational changes involving motions of groups of atoms or whole sections of a protein, while it is obvious that the energy for such triggering comes from specific interactions (electrostatic interactions, hydrogen-bonding) as the result of specific stimuli provided by the binding of ligands (substrates and allosteric effectors).
