Abstract

Most prokaryotic organisms are unicellular. Myxobacteria, however, form multicellular, organized structures such as fruiting bodies (REICHENBACH and DWORKIN 1981). The formation of fruiting bodies depends on swarming motility, cooperative feeding, and interactions between cells.
