8 because the neoglottis was too wide,
4 because the neoglottis was too narrow (voice was difficult or impossible).
Failure of Staffieri’s shunt (tracheo-oesophagus) a long time after total laryngectomy in 8 cases:
2 because the shunt was too wide
4 because of stenosis
1 because of a prior unsatisfactory prosthesis insertion
1 because of placement a long time after failure of the shunt (stenosis)
Placement during total laryngectomy in 13 cases.
Placement a long time after total laryngectomy and unsuccessful oesophagus voice training in 3 cases.
