Zusammenfassung
Nach DE LA FUYE (Nach 1) benützt die Akupunktur druck- und spontansensible Punkte der Haut zum Einstich von Metallnadeln bei reversiblen funktionellen Erkrankungen oder Störungen zu therapeutischen und/oder diagnostischen Zwecken. Aus dieser Definition ergeben sich klar die Indikation bzw. Kontraindikation zur Akupunktur und daraus abgeleitet der Stellenwert dieser Methode im Umfeld der westlichen Medizin. Wie der Ambulanzbetrieb der Klinik für Anaesthesie und Allgemeine Intensivmedizin und jener des Ludwig Boltzmann Institutes für Akupunktur in Wien in den letzten 15 Jahren gezeigt hat, ist das Hauptgebiet der Akupunktur jedoch der Einsatz der Nadeltechnik zur Analgesie bei akuten und chronischen Schmerzzuständen.
