Abstract
The sulphide copper-nickel deposits of the Pechenga ore field are confined to a profile running across the north-western part of the Kola peninsula (Atlas 1973; Gorbunov 1968; Yeliseev 1961). Most of the deposits are localized within the limits of the Pechenga ore field, being confined to the complex of the same name, and a lesser part was discovered in the Kola series. Ferruginous quartzites, muscovite-bearing pegmatites and hydrothermal lead-zinc veins are also known in the area under consideration.
