Content Analysis: Overview of a Measurement Method

  • Chapter
Content Analysis of Verbal Behavior

Abstract

This book involves a collaboration between editors representing a wide geographical area, the United States of America (Louis A. Gottschalk), Chile (Fernando Lolas), and Australia (Linda L. Viney). The actual contributors come from a wider range of areas than is included in these locations. There are authors from West Germany — specifically from Freiburg, Hamburg, Heidelberg, Kiel, Munich, and Ulm. From South America the contributors are from Porto Alegre, Brazil and Santiago, Chile. From Australia the contributors are from Wollongong and Lidcombe. There are four authors from Copenhagen, Denmark. From the United States of America there are contributors from Irvine, CA; San Francisco, CA; Phoenix, AZ; Kansas City, MO; Boston, MA; Rochester, NY; New York, NY; and many other cities. What brings together these diverse and geographically widely distributed authors is the common use of content analysis of verbal behavior in research, linking the psychosocial and biomedical sciences.
