Zusammenfassung
Die diagnostische Bedeutung der Fetoskopie hat sich in relativ kurzer Zeit gewandelt. Nach nur einem Jahrzehnt klinischer Anwendung spielt die endoskopische Inspektion des Fetus als Indikation zur Fetoskopie keine Rolle mehr und ist bis auf wenige Einzelfälle durch die Ultraschalldiagnostik ersetzt worden. Am häufigsten wurde die Fetoskopie bisher für die Punktion von Nabelschnurgefäßen unter endoskopischer Sicht genutzt, für einige Jahre die sicherste Methode, unvermischte fetale Blutproben für diagnostische Zwecke zu erhalten. Inzwischen können aber Nabelschnurgefäße ebenso erfolgreich, aber risikoärmer und technisch weniger aufwendig unter Ultraschallsichtkontrolle punktiert werden [14], so daß heute grundsätzlich auch dann auf eine Fetoskopie verzichtet werden kann, wenn in bestimmten Fällen gentechnische Untersuchungsmethoden an Chorionzottengewebe oder an aus dem Fruchtwasser stammenden fetalen Zellen eine pränatale Diagnostik von Hämoglobinopathien oder einer Hämophilie A und B nicht zulassen.
