Abstract

The monitoring of intracranial pressure (ICP) and the management of elevated levels of ICP may be of value. (Lundberg, 1960; Becker, et al., 1977) ICP monitoring, in turn, has given rise to a number of “second generation” determinations, based upon the raw ICP values. One such determination is the intracranial pressure/volume relationship, (AP/AV). This relationship is important in that it may be a more accurate indication of the intracranial compliance status than the simple ICP value.
