Abstract

Osteoblastoma and osteoid osteoma differ from each other clinically and radiographically, but their histologic features are identical.

History. Since 1970, osteoid osteoma and osteoblastoma have been subdivided into three groups under the collective term “osteoblastoma” because of their histologic kinship (Schajowicz and Lemos):

  1. 1.

    circumscribed osteoblastoma (osteoid osteoma),

  2. 2.

    genuine osteoblastoma,

  3. 3.

    multifocal sclerosing osteoblastoma.
