Infektionen durch anaerobe Keime spielen im Krankenhausmilieu eine erhebliche Rolle. Sie sind nicht nur sehr häufig für die Verzögerung von Heilungsverläufen verantwortlich, sondern nicht selten Ursache schwerer Komplikationen mit unter Umständen tödlichem Ausgang.
