An “In Vitro” Assay for Evaluating the Azospirillum Wheat Association

  • Conference paper
Azospirillum III

Summary

An “in vitro” test to measure nitrogenase activity (C2H2 reduction) of A. brasilense, strain 107, str+ nir inoculated on seedlings of wheat (var.Irnerio), is described. The test was also used to determine nitrogenase activity occurring inside and on the surface of the roots, and to count bacteria on the root. Moreover the test we describe could be useful also as a model for the study of the bacterization process.
