Der folgende Artikel zeigt anhand einer Einführung in das Gebiet der Textverarbeitungssysteme und durch Hinweise auf die spezifischen Beiträge des Fachgesprächs „Textverarbeitungssysteme“ neuere Trends auf: Hierbei handelt es sich besonders um, verstärkte Normungsbemühungen, die einhergehen mit einer Systematisierung dieses Gebietes und dazu beitragen können, bestehende Inkompatibilitäten und Geräteabhängigkeiten zu überwinden.
