Abstract
In the previous chapters (7 to 11), various forms of interaction between species have been exemplified by means of simple field experiments on tidal flats. Severe effects of consumers on their prey were obvious, and beneficial effects by large animals on the environment of the smaller ones were also apparent. In addition, some deleterious effects other than predation were observed. How do the various processes between the tidal flat organisms compare to each other and how do they interact to shape the tidal flat community?
