Abstract
This subject does not appear to have any relevance in English law, except to say that if a patient were injured because a technician, nurse or doctor had improperly used some machine or equipment, the hospital would be liable in negligence, unless proper measures had been taken to ensure that the person was competent and qualified to use the machine. This may involve, for example, training, or the use of warning notices. There is no formal legal rule requiring them in all circumstances, but their absence may be prima facie evidence of negligence.
