Abstract
The cervico-occipital joint is visible on several frontal projections (skull, cervical spine, open mouth views with or without mastication movements of the mandible). The major drawback of all these images is the superimposition of planes so that one should be very strict and restrictive in preparing the comment (all characters are not readable) and very prudent in interpretation. The slightest doubt should lead one to perform additional conventional of computerized tomograms.
