Abstract
The typical fleeting, pruritic urticarial lesion is so characteristic that it is readily recognized, even by inexperienced physicians and mostly also by the patient himself. The real diagnostic challenge lies in the recognition of the cause of this whealing reaction, particularly since this has important consequences for patient management (Chapter 11, p. 134).
