Pulmonary Infection in the Immunocompromized Patient

Abstract

Infections are probably the most common curable causes of pneumopathies in the cancer patient. As shown in Table 1, pathogens can be bacteria, fungi, parasites or viruses [1]. Bacterial infections are important to identify because of the possible use of effective antibiotics; among them legionella has to become a more frequent problem [2].
