Abstract
Concentration pulses and fronts propagate in reacting media due to the interaction of autocatalytic reaction steps with diffusion and/or ionic migration. Travelling waves are observed in excitable tissues[1] and in morphogenetic fields [2]. Existing spatial and/or temporal electric field gradients affect the transport of ionic components. We shall summarize here the results of our experimental studies of the effects of a homogeneous electric field on the concentration pulse and front waves.
