Abstract
It is time to summarize data collected on spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) of the infantile and juvenile type by quantitative electromyography (EMG). It is also time to define the achievements of EMG and to indicate questions remaining open which will be probably answered by supplementary methods, e.g. by SFEMG.
