Abstract
In patients with potentially increased intracranial pressure (ICP), continuous monitoring of ICP is a commonly used diagnostic procedure in intensive care units. Conventional chart recordings or isolated computer analyses are of limited use unless they can easily be correlated with other factors which might affect the ICP signal [e. g., arterial blood pressure (SAP), central venous pressure (CVP), and ventilation parameters]. A monitoring system should provide on-line information and be able to store data from different biological parameters economically for later evaluation.
